Linkedin Jobs: Basic and Premium job postings
There are two Listing Types that can be posted to LinkedIn Jobs: Basic or Premium. This article outlines how to manage your settings to ensure the optimum experience for your users.
Note
LinkedIn has stipulated that staffing / recruitment agencies and businesses can only post Premium jobs. This is managed by Linkedin based on your business profile with them.
All the setup described below is performed under the Board Subscriptions Settings area for LinkedIn Jobs.
If you are eligible to post only Premium jobs
- Enter your 'Company ID' (more info here):
- Obtain your 'Contract ID' by clicking 'Connect an account' and following the steps in the popup window that appears (more info here):
- Select 'Premium' as your 'Default Listing Type':
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select 'Hidden' next to 'Listing Type'. This will ensure that your users do not mistakenly try to post a Basic job:
- Configure any other preferred settings, then click 'save board settings':
Note
If your business is not eligible to post Basic jobs and such an advert is posted to LinkedIn then the posting may look as though it has been successful in idibu. However, it will not be visible anywhere on LinkedIn. This is why we recommend hiding the field.
If you are eligible to post only Basic jobs
- Enter your 'Company ID' (more info here); do not click 'Connect an account' or fill in the 'Contract ID' field:
- Select 'Basic' as your 'Default Listing Type':
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select 'Hidden' next to 'Listing Type'. This will ensure that your users do not mistakenly try to post a Premium job:
- Configure any other preferred settings, then click 'save board settings':
Note
If you are not eligible to post Premium adverts on LinkedIn Jobs - meaning you have no active Contract with them - any such posting attempts will fail.
If you upgrade to Premium, please follow the steps outlined below.
If you are eligible to post both Basic and Premium jobs
- Enter your 'Company ID' (more info here):
