About candidate sources
Candidates can be created in idibu from a number of different source types.
In this article we explain how we record source details when the candidate is created, how to differentiate the different types, and how we handle source data for subsequent applications made by existing candidates.
We will cover:
- The source logic for candidate creation
- How we display the creation source for applicants
- How we display the creation source for 'searched' candidates
- How we display the creation source for manually added candidates
- How we display the source for candidates created via CV Drop
- The source logic for applications made by existing candidates
The source logic for candidate creation
When a candidate is first created in idibu, their source will be listed in the panel on the right hand side of their record.
Note
This source never changes. We do not overwrite it if the candidate applies via another source in future, or if someone attempts to upload their details again.
How we display the creation source for applicants
If a candidate is created via an application, the job board, website or social source will be displayed.
How we display the creation source for 'searched' candidates
If a candidate is created having been found in via our aggregated job board search, the job board name will be displayed as source with '(search)' appended.
How we display the creation source for manually added candidates
If the candidate has been manually added via direct CV upload, the source will say 'Added manually'
How we display the source for candidates created via CV Drop
If the candidate has been added using our CV drop service then 'CV drop' will be displayed as their source.
The source logic for applications made by existing candidates
Once the candidate is created, every subsequent application they may make to future adverts is recorded in their notes. The source of each application can be viewed there, and this data is also used in the idibu applicant reports.
Note
In some CRM systems, the application source for the vacancy concerned will be shown against the candidate in the vacancy when the candidate is forwarded to the CRM.
